How to Choose a Corporate Videographer in Dubai: Checks and Mistakes to Avoid (Part 2)

How to choose a corporate videographer in Dubai: reviewing a film edit

Knowing how to choose a corporate videographer in Dubai saves money and stress. Judge finished corporate work, a clear process and a written scope, not showreel effects.

In Part 1, we covered what your film should do and the four decisions to make first. This second part gives you the checks that matter, how to prepare your team, the mistakes to avoid and how to plan the delivery.

How to choose a corporate videographer in Dubai: five checks

Judge the person by finished corporate work, not by showreel effects. Look at how people speak on screen, how clean the audio is and how well the story is told. Then check these five points.

What to check What to look for
Relevant experience Films of companies like yours, in real offices, factories, clinics or showrooms
A clear process Brief, script or outline, shot list, shooting day, edit rounds and delivery, with dates
Equipment and sound Professional cameras, lighting, microphones and a back-up plan: bad audio ruins a good picture
Deliverables and rights Long film, short cuts, vertical versions, subtitles and written usage rights
Revision rounds How many edit rounds are included, and who has the final say on your side

Prepare your team before the shoot

  • Tell your team what to wear and who will speak.
  • Give each speaker three or four key points rather than a long script they will read badly.
  • Choose a quiet location and plan building access with security.
  • If clients or partners appear in the film, get their written consent before the shoot day.

Two costly mistakes

Choosing the cheapest quote. You may discover later that edits, music licences, subtitles or extra versions are all extra. Ask for a written scope instead.

Shooting one long film and nothing else. The same shoot day can produce a main film, short clips and a set of photos for far less than a second production.

Plan the delivery

Agree how files will be shared, how long the footage is stored and who in your company can publish the film.

A short checklist at the start avoids long email chains at the end.

When a professional team is worth it

Hiring a professional team is worth it when the video represents your brand to clients, investors or candidates, when several people appear on camera, or when you need versions in several languages and formats.

A specialist team reduces risk, saves your staff time and gives you files you can reuse for a year. In short:

  • Define the audience and the objective before you choose a videographer.
  • Judge finished corporate work, audio quality and a clear process.
  • Get a written scope: versions, subtitles, edit rounds and usage rights.
  • Use one shoot day to produce a main film, short clips and photos.

FAQ

How long does a corporate video project take?

It depends on locations, speakers and the number of versions. In the example in Part 1, one shooting day and one week of editing produced a main film and three short cuts.

How long should a corporate video be?

Short is usually better, with shorter cuts for social media. In our example, the main film lasts 90 seconds and each LinkedIn cut 20 seconds.

Do I need a permit to film in Dubai?

Some buildings, public places and drone shots require permission. Ask your videographer early what is needed and who handles it.

Should the film be in English and Arabic?

If your audience includes Arabic-speaking decision makers or candidates, plan both versions, or at least subtitles, from the brief.

Who owns the footage?

Agree it in writing before the shoot: usage rights, how long the raw footage is stored and how the files are delivered.
